 Irrefutable proof of fraudulent websites
As everyone knows, there are dickheads and trouble-makers in every walk of life, and, also as we all know, the seo community is no different. In another forum, a typical dickhead posted nasty and false innuendos that a particular website is a scam. The website offers a totally free and useful service, so I fail to see what the scam could possibly be. He was asked by several people to post details, but he failed to do so. Instead he eventually posted some details about an old old story, concerning an entirely different website, that had been concocted by a well-known dickhead, liar, and troublemaker (John Scott) some years ago.
However, he has just privately provided conclusive proof that the free service website is indeed fraudulent, and here is the proof:-
Quote: Proof that your [sitename] is fraudulent is that it lacks any concrete contact information beyond an email form.
Now if you can stop laughing for a moment, let me ask if anyone has ever tried to find contact information, other than by email, on eBay. No? You needn't bother trying, because there isn't any - I know - I tried very very hard to find some. So let me warn everybody that eBay is fraudulent - it's a scam. It must be, because there is no concrete contact information there.
In fact there are many many millions of websites (most websites) that only provide contact by direct email or by a form. They are all fraudulent because the dickhead has proved it, so be carfeul out there!
The dickhead's username is DrTandem1, and he posts at WPW.
Note: this is a judgement on DrTandem1, and not on WPW. The staff at WPW dealt with the dickhead's innuendos very well.

And this guy claims to be a web designer. His website is http://www.drtandem.com/ (maybe you should put that in the header so we can rank this thread for his website) If that site does not hurt your eyes then you may need to go to the eye Dr.

There are plenty of website designers who can't make professional-looking websites. In some cases, it's a plus. E.g. an amateur-looking website is a plus for an individual B&B or guesthouse website - it gives it a homely and personal feel, imo.
It took a while before I figured out what the 2nd red tab down the left edge said, but I eventually got it - Rates. But I can't make out what the 3rd one down says. Reading it logically and closely, it looks like Baeice - ???
<added>
I clicked on it, and it's "Basics". It also says Basics in the alt text. But he's got a way to go yet if he thinks that those tabs are good design.

LOL yes thats a great way to tell if a site is fraudulent, but not quite to good as looking at the font size. Everyone knows that pages using large fonts are scams don't they?

Haha....way funny. After seeing some of his designs I have decided that I can be a designer too! I'm going to go out tomorrow & purchase some crayons & copy paper to whip up a few designs, scan them in & try to make some $ myself. Our 4yr old has decided to help as well.

OMG I just woke up and saw this thread. Almost spit out my coffee. Too funny guys and gal.
Much appreciated tho. You guys rock.
I was fine with this poor sap who got suckered by the likes of Minstrel psssst'ing in his ear, and showing him johns forum. I understand that low intelligence could be put to use without knowing it and used so easily. But the guy went and made it personal by bringing family into it. Now he is my new fulltime best friend. Some of you know from the past what that means
In case anyone does not know, The site refered to above that he called a scam is ArticleSender.com
I guess because it being a free service and me not feeling like I needed to add a full contact page that somehow this is proof of it being a fraudulent scam center. It's free, but i will *** you!!
What dream world is this guy living in anyways?
I would agree that a web design site or something that is intrinsically commercial should have the full range, contact info, privacy policy, etc etc, but not a free site that is merely donation driven. That is just a joke.
But alas, there are all sorts out there. We know who all it is feeding the troll, they obviously saw this guy coming a mile off and said, "hey, we can use this sucker like there is no tomorrow". And they did too
Oh and his regular nickname is DrTandem. LOL.

I don't normally post in these types of threads, but I'm tired so I will anyway..
Statements like that have got to make you wonder what exactly the thought processes of someone like that are.. Can anyone truley be so gullable that they would not only believe what they were told, but then go on to repeat it to others??
These things narrow the person down to two things..
A sweet but gullable baffoon who simply wants to be part of the in crowd or an intelligent (well maybe not quite so) conspirist out to cause some genuine harm to someone simply because they disagree with them.. I'm leaning toward the former..

 DrTandem
So simply put, HE's the bug scam artist. He points fingers at others, hides under new names...funny how we can all keep our name and not have to change it while he accuses others of all sorts of stuff.
Simply put, and this is NOT for the faint of heart and if any mods or admins wish to edit this, feel free...because I know this is harsh. However, we are having an Asshole of The Month club and methinks that DrTandem will most definitely win. Let the spiders click the link...not recommended for the faint hearted.
lol
[PhilC edit: you weren't jokng Darren. I understand the reason for it, but I had to remove the link. I thought it was a link to the competition - I feel sick ]

I like your contest Daron, but I'm not so sure that the Asshole of the Month title should go by default to Dr. Tankem when there are characters out there like Minstrel and John Scott, but then there are more months coming right?

I have a feeling that after thursdays webmasterradio show that John will get voted in as asshole of the year. They really handed him his *** on a platter in that one.
I like the play on nicknames of DrTankem
I have been looking for a use for an SEO domain I got a long time ago. I may have found it
On a good note: Daron, I hear you guys now reach out to hundreds of thousands with the coverage of cell phone networks and itunes.
Excellant deals man. As always, you rise above the average.
Tho, I would hate to have your bandwidth bill nowadays
I still deal in thousands of gigs BW, not terrabytes like you guys.

What makes these people really bad is that you have people like Rocky, Minstrel and I'm sure this Dr. joke of a guy who all want to come off as experts.
But the truth of the matter is that not one of these guys are able to make a living online.
So they attack people like Phil, Mel, William and myself that are able to make our living online.
Anyone that would hire someone that is nothing more then a part time joke to do a job for them like Minstrel, Rocky and this Dr. guy have not spent enough time studying what it takes to make it online.
Nor have they looked into who they are hiring.
Part time is find but when it gets into design and marketing people should look at the people who are able to make a living online and not the want-to-be's.

He said that he has to spend a lot of time on the road.
Why would a web designer need to spend a lot of time on the road?

Because he only takes local business, and they all think he is an idiot? I dunno, just guessing here.
Maybe local is getting a lot broader now
The guy charges under 1k per site he builds, most are around $300 and crappy as hell IMO, the ones that are not totally crappy, at least some, are templates I have seen elsewhere. doing a google search for the tagline he adds to all sites he creates, shows he does not make much on the net really.
Is pointing that out rude or obnoxious? Maybe. But when someone brings your family into a stupid forum arguement, he gets what he gets.
He is my new 24/7 best friend

Be sure that the radio shows get archived.. I rarely get to listen to the radio shows real time, too busy at "work".. But I always download everything that hits the archives to listen to when I have time..

He seems to get a little upset when someone tells the truth about him but thinks it is ok if he tells lies about others.
Did you point him to this thread William?

I'm sorry guys, I couldn't help myself with that photo! hehehehe
I know that was sooooo off color.
However...that is DrTandem...the a**hole that he is!
Nuc, you're right, that bandwidth bill has gotten outta control. However, thank G-D for The LimeLight Networks. They have made it a better way to manage the BW in bulk for streaming media.
FYI, I cannot wait for him to get his.
Should I change the anchor text on my site to DrTandem?
Methinks it may be more appropriate and get found faster in the SERPS.
