I've heard that link exchanges are not worth very much to Google now. Even three way links are getting filtered out.
Is it true?

The link exchange is becoming a hot debate.
It looks like more weight is given to links embedded in resource box articles (article submissions).
I've been using ArtemisPro -http://www.artemispro.com - non affiliate link.
I noticed that since I've been using this fully automated article submission software, indexed pages have been increasing.

Hi there,
I have been using the new version (9.1 I think) Bussiness edition of IBP which provides it combined with Arelis.
I am very new to SEO etc and found it a pretty good piece of software for someone like me who knows not a lot. I don't know if it would be much use fro somebody who has been in the business for a while.
I have use Web SEO, and a few others and I find IBP the best.

I have also had some experience using this softare on and off for over 4 years, i love it, search engine submission is really fast and always gets me dozens of bots spidering my pages within a few days to a week, i always get indexed by msn and many others within a week or two
the spider and keyword optimization features are also very informative, i dotn think to much of the link exchange and links page building features as they never produce good results for my search keywords and theres better ways of getting links
but overall its a good piece of software

@BWWD2006,
I though SE hates auto submit like that ? is it really working ?
hm ... all this time I use manual submission, bunch of SE lists, all day submission ... this tool is really tempting

It is good, but time consuming. You need to type in the keyword you are trying to tune for, then it compares the top 10 SERP result pages for that term (for whatever search engine you want), and checks to see how they've tuned it, and gives you advice.
However, you can't always take what IBP says for gospel, because you may have found a totally new way to tune for particular keywords that no-one else has.
Experimentation is key. ie. do what you think could work, and also another page for what IBP reckons.
Also, if say one hundred people all use IBP to tune for 'foo bar' and all follow the advice exactly, then how will the search engine determine who gets in the top 10?
In other words, it's only a part of SEO, not a complete tool.
We're still very happy with it though, and continue to double check our pages with it.

I used it but got tired of it. not a huge fan but it wasn't bad. It is better than most software I just get tired of creating all those profiles.

just use it as a tool for analysis, don't rely on it's suggestion.

I have to agree. I don't rely to heavily on the suggestions in the Web Page Optimizer tool it has. It only compares your site to the top 10 results and says what you need to do to match their on-page optimization.
When I use this tool on my new sites it always says I'm doing various things wrong but after a little while, I overtake those sites because I have optimized my site better than theirs. The tool only tells you how to match the sites but not optimize it better.
Thats just my opinion though ;) I did end up getting IBP and I use it daily, especially for its reports it can generate. Makes it easy for my to send reports to my clients.

I used it a few times years ago. (an older version)
I prefer doing the submissions myself these days.
Maybe the new version works better...

Good point - it's only 1 piece of the whole puzzle.
I've used IBP off and on for about 4 years too. I tend to use WebCEO more often though, I like the interface better. I don't use the link builder aspects of either tool, I think I do better on my own.
I'm still interested in a response to the question about SE's not "liking" auto submittal tools though.
