Hi all

I have been working on back links to my site and last year i had 14 in google and was about position 159 but now i have over 100 but now i list about 203.
Can you tell me what im doing wrong as im at a loss.

One good thing has come out of my hard work, i now rank second in Yahoo.

If you have accellerated links to your site in a short period you are sandboxed. My site is a year and a half old but I recently ramped up links to it and google sandboxed it.

what do you mean by "google sandboxed it"
there's a few different definitions floating around. Which definition are you talking about?

How many links do you have to increase between PR update to be sandboxed?

My target phrase is Garden Games andi have tried to use this in all back links, but have found that some will only put my site address (Absolutely Gardens).

As to accellerated links, i read there information regarding linking and if they said that your link will be place at the top for a short time and then listed in the main list i dont request a link.

I have checked to see where i am today in Google and i am 208.
How can you tell if your site has been sandboxed.

My understanding of the sandbox is that it was related to NEW sites which targeted competitive links and which had a relatively large number of backlinks. The effect was that the site would show good rankings for the allinanchor search for the targeted keyword, but would not show up in the rankings for the same term.

The idea that an old site may be "sandboxed" (or whatever) if they gain too many links too fast is new to me.

A pretty good rule of thumb is:

If your rankings drop at any time in any search engine the very first place to look every time without exception is to see if the search engine is modifying the way they rank sites. In other words if your rankings drop its most likely because your page is not as relevant according to the the search engine alog as well as it used to be.

It has been observed that Google is making extensive changes over the past eight weeks.
