Enquiry or purchase? If purchase - all depends on it. Is it cost effective? Conversion tracking of 1% is rather low - you can of course it increase.

It depends how much you are paying for a click and if that call leads to a sale. eg 100 clicks @ £1 each = 1 call. If you get a sale on that call and profit on sale = £102 therefore £2 profit. If profit on sale is £10,000 then profit is £9,900.

1% is not high though and perhaps your ad text could be improved to target that 1% that call. You could also allow other contact methods on your website. Make it an easy, interesting and nice experience to contact you. :D.

I used the adwords service and got a few customers from them, the problem is that unless you are willing to pay lots per click you will only get a few clicks per day.

About 1 in every 100-500 visitors became a customer.

I would advise you to leave the google content network part alone and stick with the google search network.

I was told that fraudulent web masters with an adsence account can run up adwords customers bills by clicking on the ads.

I may not have explained it very well, heres the google page with more info on the content network.
https://adwords.google.co.uk/support/bi ... 9&hl=en_GB

To select or deselect the content network option go to your campaign, then go to "edit campaign settings" then use the tick boxes in section 5.

EDIT - FORGET ADWORDS!!

Welcome James :hi:

One enquiry for every 100 visitors sounds very low, especially as it's a freephone number, so I'd suggest 3 things:-

(1) Improve the look of your site to make it more professional-looking. As it is, it gives the impression that it was designed by an amateur - there's a lot wrong with it. Sorry to be so blunt, but impressions do matter. It may be wise to hire a professional website designer to do it for you.

(2) Check the searchterms that people are clicking your AdWords for, because they may be searching on searchterms that show they are not really in the market for what you offer. Then refine your searchterms to refine the people who click on your ads.

(3) Check your AdWords text to make sure that it isn't attracting people who are not really interested in your products.

I bought an e-book from this guy http://www.perrymarshall.com/google/ on using Ad-words and found it to be really helpful. Even if you don't want to buy it he'll send you a few e-mails with some hints in them.

Basically he changed my whole approach to adwords which I have also applied to Overture and it seems to be helping me.
