Post The Dave Pasternack Blunder
Dave Pasternack

In case some of you do not know the name Dave Pasternack, he is fond of saying things like SEO is simple (even tho it looks like he found it too difficult for him by appearances seeing as he gave up on SEO and only offers PPC management), and he is good at getting his words published and some media attention.

Now there is a contest by Threadwatch to rank for the name Dave Pasternack by March 1st.

I would find it extremely gratifying if we could help Phil maybe collect that $1000.00

UPDATE: Well, we are still on page 3, not surprisingly as none of us are actively trying to win, so I am going to pass some love to a friend who has the best chance at holding #1.

That said, check out Oilman's Dave Pasternack page on his SEO blog.

He tried SEO actually. He then started only providing PPC services. That generally happens when someone finds that they just can not rank their clients. But he claims SEO is not an ongoing process, so I suppose that says enough.

seems pretty on going from where i see it,crickey in a year how things have changed  its scary just reading back up on this stuff,i just saw nickys blog even thats changed out of all propotion blogging i mean.
i was never a fan of ppc, i had a run in with a local firm in norwich when i went to get some work when i was down on my luck, they were simply ppc,i did try to point out that seo was the way to be so they didnt hire me thanks be 8) so here i am now thinking about seo all again and thanks to dave pasternack i get some great links

I doubt the engines will view a community effort as spamming. I could be wrong, but I have yet to see any contest efforts failing for that in the past.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Google Bombing primarily used to rank someone elses site and not your own?

Certainly... I am dobbling of into the phrase based theory of Bills... it could certainly apply to this from scoring link profiles (actual link text in particular)

This is just SEOing, not spamming and not Google Bombing which is a daft term, banged three blog wide links to it including a PR4 blog UKseodirectory.wordpress.com and a few on another site.
