Nice post DoA but the price I see reported here is $1.65 billion, which is even nicer.

Good for them.. It's always nice to see someone with a rather simple idea make a gob o' cash when someone comes along and buys them up..

Here's the best part...

According to reports, they were only making enough money to to pay expeses... no profit.

Guess they don't have to worry about that now!

I heard that they came up with the idea and decided not to offer it up at the next board meeting, then went and did it themselves.

If so, hooray for the little guys!

That would be one hell of a work contract if this was true.. The whole work for hire thing gets in the way of creating new things for yourself..

fey - the only internet / online stock i'd trust to be safe nowadays is google -- they're certain to be ok!

900 million is absolutely ridiculous for that site! I can't think how they're gonna use it to get their money back --> they mentioned making the searching for videos easier --> its already easy as pie! (and why didn't the admins just add a google search box? They'd have made enough from search revenue.

There were an awful lot of stocks back before the big bust that were thought to be safe as well.. They all took hits.. We are quickly entering the overvalued stock price range that will cause another contraction in the value of the shares.. I still have mine, but not 1.65 billion dollars worth.. Having that much money tied to a single stock is nuts..

As for converting traffic to money.. My guess is that they will slap adsense on it and call it done

The look on their faces towards the end makes me think they're thinking "who gives a crap what we say we're rich!!! let google deal with our issues"
