Post WebProWorld are spammers
It's true. They are email spammers just like all the other email spammers. I used to get a few of their news letters, but I cancelled them all - several times. Each time I cancel them, they stop coming for a while, but it doesn't take long before they start sending them again. I've been receiving spam from them for years - the current period has lasted a few months so far, but I'm fed up of cancelling each time. I'm now receiving 3 copies of the newsletter each time.

Bloody spammers!

Spreading the fact that they are spammers around the forums, including WPW, might cause them to take notice and change tbeir policy.

Also suffered from their newsletters - however many you unsubscribe from another 'different' one appears.

As far as I know, I get one that I subscribed to years ago - I've unsubscribed to it and all others several times.

I've just started a thread at WPW about it:-

http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=66712

How about informing the advertisers that WPW's delivery list isn't all opt-in, and that they are be being cheated if they've been told that it's opt-in. They may not be interested, but, then again, they might be.

I was, but I registered with another username, and they weren't bothered. The guy who banned me hadn't got a clue what was going on at the time, because he was new to the job.

Well - the Title was changed, and Mike made a sarcastic post, which was rather stupid. He added that the thread would be removed in a couple of days, and that I'd be banned for posting it.

He denied spamming and explained what might be the reason for the spam - people are automatically opted-in for a newletter when they register in the forum. So I did a check, and registered a new username. There was nothing to suggest that, in registering, I would opt in for a newletter. Newsletters weren't mentioned anywhere in the registration process. So it's spam.

The thread is continuing over there for the time being.

He also edited the link to this thread in my post. He's a real dickhead.

The thread continued with animosity, and is still there, but it's being removed in the morning - and I'm getting banned at the same time.

As I said, Mike tried to claim that registering for the forum automatically opts in for a newsletter, but that isn't the reason why I'm getting them. I get 3 copies of the same newsletter - all to different email addresses. The first one started quite a few months ago, the second one was added some time after that, and third one started coming quite recently. In all of that time, I haven't registered a username at WPW, so the emails really are spam.

I personally hope that neither happens.

The thread needs to continue for obvious reasons, and any community benefits from your participation.

And for any of you who want to cry "suck-up"

FU** OFF!
