 how Cool is CUIL? So a team of ex Google staffers has built a new search engine named Cuil.com and it boasts of having indexed a trillion pages nice, but is it any good at retrieving information from search queries?
From my admittedly short stay on their pages IMO they are not very good at all, but then I may be biased since I don't rank anywhere there. However when the results for say search engine optimization brings up addme and submit express in the top ranking I think it has a long ways to go.
Now take a look at the results for seo forum among the top ten and tell me if you see a single seo forum on the top ten results???
Sorry Cuil but you're just too cold for me.
YMMV obviously but I would be very interested in other opinions.

Well, I'm seeing some widely varying results. Some hit the mark and others are way off base.
Also, the thumbnails are, in many cases wrong, and others are woefully outdated. One of my sites is showing a thumbnail from a header graphic that hasn't been on the site for months.
Do a search for SEO Forums and WWS is #1. Seems to be sensitive to exact phrase matches when it comes to plurals. I've noticed it with lots of different phrases.
I think they launched too soon. It will be interesting to see how quickly they address their issues. Interesting notion though. I do like the concept.

Worst I've seen in a long time.
Not sure why they are able to get the internet talking about them. Maybe their marketing is better than their product.

Danny Sullivan was laughing because a search for 'daily searchcast' doesn't pull up his site at all..
I'm seeing a lot of directories outranking websites too..

There has been lots of speculation that they index a far greater amount of pages, but this doesnt really mean squat unless there search queries return decent results...
I mean to think that 4 ex google staff can replicate the work of tens of thousands of hours of google staff's work in a short time is laughable - although when i first used cuil, i did like how different it was - but not at some of the pages i was presented with.

In my opinion, Cuil is not a antagonist of google now,but if it comes to some Asia countries,maybe in the futrue, it would be famous
